Forward 1038 head of stock comprising 243 store cattle, 40 rams and ram lambs, 414 breeding sheep and 291 store lambs.
Another very good entry of cattle met a firmer trade particularly for good quality and store cattle with a top price of the day of £900 for Charolais heifers. Leading prices as follows: Charolais heifers £900, steers £775, Limousin x heifers £860, steers £760, young bulls £720, Belgian Blue x steers £835, heifers £670, Simmental x steers £885, heifers, £655, Angus x steers £855, heifers £555, Friesian steers £740, heifers £560, young bulls £415, Blonde x steers £715, heifers £755, Shorthorn steers £615.
A good entry of breeding sheep were a good trade with several lots selling in advance of sellers expectations. Prices as follows: Shearlings Charollais £142, £128, Texel £140, £137, £134, £133, £126, £125, £124 (2), £123, £121, £120, Suffolk x £135, £130, £129, £125, £120, £115, Lleyn x £124, £109, £106, Mule £118 (2), £117, £116, £115 (2), £114, £113, £110. Ram and ram lambs were a steady trade with best quality selling reasonably well.
