Simmental show & sale 10 MAY 2011
A smaller entry than last year was partly offset by an improvement in quality and trade was brisk throughout leaving only two animals unsold. Top price of the day was 2000gns for a 7 year old cow with a heifer calf at foot.

Prices: Bulls; 1500gns, 1475gns, 1375gns. Cows with calves; 2000gns, 1900gns, 1400gns (twice), 1350gns, 1300gns, 1200gns. Heifer with calf; 1825gns. Maiden heifer; 975gns (twice), 950gns.

North of England Simmental Society Show and Sale:

A small but very good show for this year left the judge, Mr George Young of Tadcaster, a difficult task. The overall championship was awarded to a 20-month old bull, Midhope Amazon, bred by Mr WJ Hollingsworth from Sheffield.
