Thirsk Farmers Auction Mart hold a fortnightly Furniture, Antique & Collectable sale.  The sales in 2006 grew to such a point that in 2007 we moved from monthly to fortnightly sales. We now have two auctioneers selling both furniture and collectable concurrently at 6pm

Goods are normally received by our staff on the Monday prior to  the sale between 12 noon & 5pm. If you are unable to bring your items to the sale we offer a local collection service using locfurn1al hauliers

We also undertake house clearances and have storage facilities on site for the short and medium term.  Please enquire for rates and availability

Any electrical items that are brought into the sale are subject to a Portable Appliance  Test (PAT test) which is to check that the items are electrically safe (not necessarily working order) and able to be sold through the auction.

The sale takes place on a Tuesday evening.  Viewing is from 12 noon until the start of the sale at 4.30pm when we start selling box lots and electrical equipment.  We frequently hold a sale of plants, shrubs and trees from a renowned market gardener.
The auction for this starts at 3pm.

furn2 The sale is split into three main sections.  Firstly the “boxed” lots section which consists of small household goods, books, toys and kitchen equipment.  We then move onto the collectable sale held in the foyer of the Auction Mart where a wide range of pictures, glass, porcelain, militaria , collections of china, tea services, coins, stamps and exquisite jewellery are sold and  the sale of sofas/settees, modern, pine and antique furniture. Recently we have had some excellent Mouseman goods come through the sale and have realized excellent prices.    Buyers can either pay by cash, debit card or credit card (credit cards attract a 3% surcharge) on the evening of the sale.

All enquries for sales and clearances should be directed through our Furniture Manager, Sue Barton on 01845 523165, collections can be arranged through Robert Mothersill on 07976073244.You can also contact our two estate agents, Joplings of Thirsk on 01845 522680 and Joplings at Ripon on 01765 694800 for house sales enquries.
